Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian Singer and Songwriter. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. Her professional name is Aurora. Her name can be also stylized in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 receiving rave reviews from both music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of her best-known songs. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway by her, also gave the song a boost of recognition. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering a piano hidden in the attic of her home, and becoming fascinated with its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to pursue music solely for fun or to aid in growing, but that she must explore it. She began writing lyrics of her own. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her love of Bjork's style. Her mom encouraged her to play her music publicly, not so that she could gain fame but rather to help others realize how important they are and how they can make a difference for the world. When she began playing the piano, she was six years old and was writing her first song when she was nine. This was not known by her family until she was fourteen. Aurora has never imagined being a famous singer. Aurora claims she loves creating music. For her, the songs she creates are how she feels about any thing.
